PkgClip 1.0.0 & kalu 1.0.0 released

New versions of PkgClip - Cached Packages Trimmer Utility - and kalu - upgrade notifier for Arch Linux - have just been released.

Both have been bumped to 1.0.0, not because they've undergone major changes but simply because my versioning so far had been possibly a little, hmm... "random", so I decided to try and use something better, specifically semantic versioning.

And while both PkgClip & kalu have been stable for a little while now, they were still in the 0.y.z branch, which in semantic versioning should be for development phase, while the first stable version should be 1.0.0, hence the bump.

Of course that's not all, both have actually been updated as well :

PkgClip 1.0.0

Changes since last version are :

  • Added buttons to "Select previous/next marked package" to allow quick & easy review of marked packages

  • Added menus for "Select previous/next marked package" and "Remove marked packages", all with accelerators

  • Added minimum command line options (--help, --version)

  • Under certain conditions, all sizes on the list could show as "128 TiB" (in list only, tooltips & total were correct), fixed

  • Other minor fixes

  • Bumped to 1.0.0 to follow semantic versioning

kalu 1.0.0

Changes since last version are :

  • Preferences: kalu's updater: added option to disable confirmation before starting PostSysUpgrade processes.

  • PostSysUpgrade: now you can use variable $PACKAGES in the command line, to be replaced by the list of upgraded packages.

Note that the list actually is of all packages involved in the sysupgrade, i.e. also those removed or added (e.g. when a package is replaced by another one).

  • When buttons for Upgrades & AUR were both used/clicked at the same time, kalu would run a check after each, fixed

  • Parsing config file was broken for lines with more than 255 characters, fixed

  • News parser: added support for lists and "

  • Other minor fixes.

  • Bumped to 1.0.0 to follow semantic versioning
